Russian Delegation Visits Suifenhe to Deepen Cross-Border Used Vehicle Trade
Recently, a delegation of used vehicle company executives from 17 cities across Russia visited Suifenhe to conduct on-site inspections of partner used vehicle companies, aiming to further deepen cooperation in the cross-border used vehicle trade.
On-Site Inspection
During the visit, Russian representatives visited the vehicle display area, carefully examining multiple vehicles on site, and engaged in detailed discussions with Chinese staff regarding vehicle performance, mileage, maintenance records, and other specifics. The delegation also toured office facilities to understand business processes and after-sales service systems. Russian representatives gave positive assessments of vehicle quality and operational management, and exchanged views on subsequent procurement and logistics arrangements.
Strategic Advantages of Suifenhe
Gelila, head of Russia's Gruzoteka Auto company, stated that Suifenhe's proximity to Russia makes it a key transit hub for used vehicle exports, with large export volumes. Chinese vehicles have proven themselves well in the Russian market.
Cai Yuxin, general manager of Suifenhe Luze Auto Export Co., Ltd., explained that the company chose Suifenhe due to its natural advantages for Russia trade, including excellent supporting infrastructure for customs procedures and logistics. The convenience of Russian clients visiting Suifenhe has strengthened the bond between the company and its customers.
Market Context
Russia remains the largest single destination for Chinese used vehicle exports. According to Russian automotive statistics, in the first eight months of 2026, Russia imported 75,000 used passenger vehicles from China, compared to 38,000 in the same period last year, an increase of 98%. China has surpassed South Korea as the second-largest supplier of used passenger vehicles to Russia, behind only Japan.
The most popular models in the Russian used vehicle market include the Volkswagen Tayron, Toyota Corolla, Audi Q3, Audi A3, and Volkswagen Golf. Joint-venture internal combustion vehicles remain the mainstream preference. Meanwhile, new energy used vehicles are increasingly viewed as the next growth frontier, as the first wave of scaled retired NEVs begins entering the circulation chain.
This inspection visit deepened Russian partners' understanding of cooperating enterprises and laid a solid foundation for both sides to expand the Russian market and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
