Rubber Supply Gap Widens, Inventory Continues Depleting: Rubber Stocks Surge Across the Board
On September 16, A-share rubber stocks rose collectively. Yuanxiang Xincai surged nearly 12%, while Longxing Tech and Heimao Co. hit the 10% daily limit. BR rubber futures main contract gained over 3%.
The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) previously forecast that global natural rubber production in 2026 would reach approximately 15.32 million tons, while consumption would reach 15.60 million tons, resulting in a supply gap of approximately 280,000 tons, wider than in 2025.
As of September 13, the total inventory of bonded and general trade natural rubber in the Qingdao area had fallen to 603,200 tons, a decrease of 15,800 tons or 2.56% from the previous week. Bonded zone inventory recorded a significant decline of 5.21%. Shanghai Futures Exchange natural rubber futures warehouse receipts have also been in a depleting trend, with positions at a near ten-year low.
Cost pressure is being transmitted to the downstream of the industry chain. Since 2026, numerous tire companies including Michelin, Bridgestone, Zhongce Rubber, and Sailun Tire have successively issued price increase notices, with increases generally ranging from 2% to 5%.
